How do I get my 2 for 1 pass?

Simply go to the ACMI online game and play your way through the history of video games! You do not have to beat anyone’s score - just finish. The five levels are all upwards scrolling platformers based on Pacman, Pong, Tetris, Space Invaders and Mario. Get fruits for bonus points and finish each level quickly for a time bonus. Relax, it’s not that hard as you cannot die. If you get hit you simply fall down a few platforms losing time. [What is ACMI Game On?]

ACMI Game On Exhibition Awesome!

This is the best $15 you could ever spend on video gaming!

Every system from every era of every genre everywhere! A gamers nirvana.

[Get your 2 for 1 pass NOW!]

After walking past the 10 metre neon Mario on Flinders Street Melbourne I entered the ACMI Game On Exhibition. It is $15 Adult $10 Concession. For $5 extra you get a loaded iPod voice overview of the Game On gallery. Skip this as you can read this narrative in 10 seconds from the handout pamphlets. Keep in mind - this is not a video game expo but an exhibition funded by Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

Keep walking straight from the entry and you’ll be at the Memory Map - a collection of artist submitted short videos of the history of Victoria watched from all encompassing futuristic booths and is not a bad experience. Take a left up the escalators and you can watch student made films in the cinemas, have food and coffee at the cafe, or buy cool trinkets at the ACMI shop. Video gamers - you enter, pay, take a right down the stairs to the underground plethora of gaming goodness.

Why I Postponed Joining uVme During Prelaunch

uVme

uVme is an over hyped gaming network where players enter tournaments to win money. The prelaunch phase had plenty of hype and little substance. I could not even test the games that I would pay money to play. Upon signing up for more information I was both sceptical and excited.

I am not a fan of subscribing to Internet money making schemes and prefer to ‘invest’ my money into more traditional vehicles such as real estate or property. I like to review data about the investment from non-biased sources. I like to look at its history and see if any one else in the investment world has got burned. So I stayed cool, waited for the uVme launch date before jumping into anything.

Why was I sceptical? Read the rest of this entry »
